Bioidentical Hormone Therapy for Menopause in Orlando

Bioidentical hormone therapy (BHRT) uses hormones with the same structure as the ones your body makes, such as estradiol and progesterone. At Homa Institute in Orlando, our Nurse Practitioner reviews your symptoms and labs, then decides with you if BHRT is appropriate and which form fits your routine. Membership plans start at $149.90 per month.

    Listen first

We go through your symptoms, cycle changes, sleep, mood and your personal and family history.

What are the signs of perimenopause and menopause?

Perimenopause can start in your 40s, sometimes earlier. Common signs are irregular periods, hot flashes, night sweats, trouble sleeping, irritability or anxiety, brain fog, vaginal dryness, low libido and weight gain around the waist.

Menopause is confirmed after 12 months without a period. Symptoms can continue for years, and you do not need to wait for them to get worse to ask for help.

Bioidentical vs. synthetic hormones

Bioidentical hormones are identical in structure to the estrogen and progesterone your body produces. Some bioidentical products are FDA-approved; others are prepared by compounding pharmacies and are not FDA-approved. Our Nurse Practitioner explains which option you are getting and why.

Menopause and weight gain

Lower estrogen changes how the body stores fat, which is why many women gain weight around the waist during this phase. Hormone therapy can help with sleep and energy, and when weight is also a goal, it can be combined with our medical weight loss program.

Frequently asked questions

Am I too young for hormone therapy?

Not necessarily. Perimenopause symptoms often begin in the 40s. What matters is your symptoms, history and labs, not only your age.

How long until I feel better?

Many women notice better sleep and fewer hot flashes within a few weeks, but it can take a few months and some adjustments to find the right dose.

Is BHRT safe?

For many women it is, when prescribed after a careful evaluation and monitored over time. A history of breast cancer, blood clots, stroke or liver disease can change the plan, which is why we review your history and labs first.

How much does BHRT cost in Orlando?

At Homa Institute, membership plans start at $149.90 per month, with a one-time $100 enrollment fee and a 6-month minimum. Labs and medication may be billed separately. We confirm everything at your evaluation.

Can BHRT help me lose weight?

It can help with sleep, energy and some of the changes that make weight harder to manage, but it is not a weight loss treatment by itself. Many patients combine it with our medical weight loss program.
